Amerika'da Yaz Stajı

 
Halihazırda üniversite okumakta olan adaylarımız, bu fırsat sizin için! Yaz tatilinizde bir Amerikan şirketinin bünyesinde staj yaparak hem bir uluslararası deneyim elde etmiş hem de mezuniyetiniz için gerekli olan zorunlu stajınızı tamamlamış olursunuz. Amerika'da Yaz Stajları genellikle unpaid (maaşsız) olmakla birlikte bazen de paid (maaşlı) olabilir. Programa katılmak için iyi derecede İngilizceye sahip olmak gerekmektedir. Staj tarihleri genellikle 20 Haziran - 10 Eylül arasındadır. Bu tarihler şirketlerin taleplerine göre değişiklik gösterebilmektedir. Aşağıda 2012 yılı yaz dönemi için açık pozisyonlar bulunmaktadır.

1) Digital Media Education Center

Business Operations Support


Requirements:

-       Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of both the Macintosh and Windows platform)

-       Strong English/communication skills (proper phone etiquette and a pleasant demeanor).

 Responsibilities:

-       Basic Marketing activities.

-       Administrative Support.

-       Telephone support.

-       Classroom set-up assistance.

2) Art Gallery

Public Relations and Marketing

Responsibilities:

-Assist visitors and staff with the day-to-day gallery and retail operations, including sales transactions, gallery opening, reception planning, promotions, corporate sponsorships and artwork commissions.

-Assist in promotion and management of 2 principal programs.

Requirements:

Some experience or strong-demonstrated interest in public relations/marketing.

Some experience or strong-demonstrated interest in developing corporate sponsorship for event venues.

Strong multi-tasking and time management skills

Excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills.

Passion for the arts.

Experience in a gallery/retail environment a plus.

3) Art Gallery

Gallery & Design


Responsibilities:
-Work with the Manager of Design assisting in the creation of a new gallery website and updating website content as needed;

-Work with the Manager of Design for all graphic design needs within the Gallery including signage, graphic displays, advertisements and special event invitations;
-Greet and assist visitors to the Gallery;

-Assist with gallery show preparations, including taking down and sorting work from prior show, sorting new artwork for display, assisting with hanging the artwork, cleaning the Gallery and other opening preparations as requested;

-Cover the Gallery, handle sales, and answer questions about the Gallery and artwork;

-Provide input and recommendations to the Gallery staff to promote Gallery awareness and activities;

-Assist with sponsorship solicitations;

-Assist with Art promotions;

-Distribute press releases for gallery shows;

-Work with vendors/students/staff to set prices for products for sale in Gallery;

-Work with the students on commissioned work as needed;

-Perform other duties in support of the organization.

Requirements:

Candidates with framing skills and knowledge of digital photography/imaging and graphic design are greatly desired.

Experience in sales/marketing (preferably in a gallery/retail environment),

Public relations and event planning (emphasis on obtaining sponsorship for event venues);

Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills;

Excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills and driving passion for the arts.

4) Art Gallery


DEVELOPMENT and COMMUNICATIONS


The Development and Communications department focuses on raising funds and increasing community awareness and involvement about the gallery’s arts connection.

Responsibilities:

Grant management: research, writing, and tracking

Fundraising: writing, including thank you letters

Direct mail appeals, including writing, mailing, tracking responses, and sending donation acknowledgements and thanks you notes.

Administrative tasks: answering and making phone calls, running errands, filing, faxing, copying, and pitching in whenever and wherever necessary.

5) Art Gallery

Outreach Intern:

Responsibilities:


Writing and distributing press releases as needed

Updating press kits and distribute as needed

Building rental related tasks

Assisting with the writing and distribution of all event related correspondence, including invitations, directions, volunteer instructions, thank you letters, etc.

6) Washington Diplomat

Media/Marketing Internship:


Independent monthly newspaper serving the worldwide diplomatic community

Responsibilities:

Building databases.

Preparing mailers.

Marketing eblasts and other marketing tools. 

Requirements:

The successful candidate must be internet savvy and able to help support our sales force.

7) International development organization

Finance/Accounting:


Responsibilities:


The Intern will have the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of the financial operation of an international nonprofit organization working directly with the Director and Finance Manager in preparing for the external audit in addition to assisting with continual financial upkeep, including organizing and preparing financial documentation; analyzing headquarter and overseas budget analysis; and working on payroll, bank reconciliation, annual financial reports, and bookkeeping.

All interns are also expected to perform administrative duties as needed alongside any assigned special projects, including filing, database entry, photocopying, and any other clerical duty as needed.

8) Nonprofit  independent research and information organization

International Relations / PR / Media / Marketing:


Responsibilities:


Issuing statements and providing commentary to the print and electronic media;

Submitting articles on hemispheric issues to regional and national media;

Monitoring human rights and press freedom violations;

Promoting constructive U.S. policy initiatives;

Formulating viable alternatives that seek a diplomatic rather than a military solution to disputes; attending briefings by visiting dignitaries;

Surveying legislation focused on social justice and the expansion of authentic democratic institutions.

Requirements:

Some knowledge and/or interest in U.S.-Latin American affairs or international relations and should display impressive research and writing skills.

Experience in journalism, English, or one of the social sciences preferred

Be highly motivated and show initiative and a capacity for innovation.
